Jayme Luzzi's Personal Statement

I have initiated change and taken positive action for any company I have worked for throughout my career. In doing this I have shown profit and growth for anyone who has put their trust in me. I would not have been able to attain the success that I did within the sales industry if not for my keen ability to identify and retain quality employees who exceeded the needs and expectations of my employers.

I believe in the highest level of customer service and professionalism at all times. I bring added value to my employer by always looking out for their best interest first and foremost in every situation. The breadth of my experience in communicating effectively with clients or on their behalf has been an asset to all of the companies I have been employed.

When given the chance to lead I do so by example. I am not afraid of the challenge of training or mentoring others to perform at a level above industry standards. I maintain high standards for myself as well as any employees who report to me or are entrusted with my care.

Some examples of my successes throughout my career:

Current Accomplishments:

  • Running three businesses simultaneously. Catering, event planning, and consulting. These have both local as well as national clients. Some of our business relationships include TruNorth Companies, AL Consulting, Survey Merchandiser, and The New Jersey Chapter of the Global Business Travel Association.

  • Representing Fairleigh Dickinson University at the 68th Session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW68) at the
United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).

Business History Achievements:

  • While at Funcoland I Started with a staff of two people and sales in the low $600k and turned Willowbrook, Funcoland into a 1.6 mm dollar producer with a staff of 15-20 people within 8 months. The store went from being ranked 103 out of 106 stores in the company to the 3rd highest volume.

  • I was then transferred and promoted to open Funcoland's Seattle, Washington district in 1996. I was responsible for recruiting as well as training all store employees while overseeing the operations of the Tukwila store.

  • I returned to New Jersey for personal reasons and took a position with Babbage's, I was assigned to their new concept store and took Planet-X from 1.3mm in sales to 1.7mm at their location in Garden State Plaza within a year.

  • While at Planet-X I was also placed on a special field team to assist Babbage's in structuring their used video game department using my knowledge that stemmed from my previous position at Funcoland.

  • I then took over three separate stores for Babbage's and helped to solve the customer service issues as well as the loss prevention problems at both their locations in Menlo Park Mall, Software Etc, and Super Software as well as their Babbage's location in Short Hills. While in Menlo Park I doubled the sales volume of the Super Software by changing the marketing focus and implementing a sound system in the store that drew in more customers. I showed a 36% increase in sales volume while at the location of The Mall at Short Hills store.

  • While with Godiva Chocolatier I received personal accolades for my personal and store sales performance. My location achieved sales of $600k+ within a two-month period (November, December) which was almost double the volume of the year prior.

  • While at The Body Shop, I had continued sales success in several locations. At the Short Hills location, I was able to maintain a 13% growth in sales over the previous year, while at the Woodbridge location, I was able to show a 38% increase post-remodel on a store that was down 30% on the year and was able to show positive growth of 12% pre-remodel at the Willowbrook location and 17% post remodel on a store that was originally down 32% on the year.

  • I was given the newly remodeled Woodbridge location for The Body Shop when it reopened in October of 2001 and was one of three stores area-wide (New Jersey/New York Area) to achieve sales higher than the previous year during the 2001 holiday season. (Post 9/11)

  • I was also ranked one of the top ten managers for The Body Shop for showing an increase in last year’s sales at the Woodbridge location for the first quarter of 2002.

  • I was the only Store manager in the New Jersey District of The Body Shop to make all 5 sales bonus objectives for the Holiday season of 2002 at The Body Shop.

  • I also achieved an A+ manager status while at The Body Shop which is given to only the top managers in the company. A+ ranking is based on six areas of performance; Effective Communication, Sales Leadership, Performance Development, Entrepreneurial, Operations Management, and Motivational.

  • While at Gap I took the Rockaway locations from 60% of their yearly credit card application goals to 103% of their credit card application goals in less than three months.

  • I was then promoted at Gap to a much higher volume location in Paramus Park and was given the responsibility of running that location. I was also made area trainer for credit card application goals and assisted all stores in implementing action plans to meet and exceed their credit card goals.

  • While at New York Life I was placed in several mentoring groups for key products such as Long-Term Care (only 24 out of 160 agents were chosen) and 412I (Only 10 out of 160 agents) to train in-depth for sales of these products.

  • While at Met Life I earned the Super Starter award which is given to agents who earn $20,000 in gross dealer commission their first nineteen weeks in their position.

  • I won a recruiting contest held by the Met Life office, The Wealth Planning Group for bringing potential recruits to the table and won a night at the Meadowlands Race Track.

  •  With the Altman Group, I was trained in several different departments within the call center and even though I was not with the company for more than a month I was kept throughout the summer which is their slowest period of the year.

  • All phone calls within the call center are monitored and graded by a quality assurance department. Except for one month, my average score since my inception has been 100%. The only month I did not achieve 100% status on my calls was October 2010 I had one score of 98% which brought my average to 99.98% for that month.

  • While at the Altman Group I was also one of the highest producing agents so far as the number of contacts per hour. The company goal was 30 and my average was consistently between 35-38 contacts per hour. I was also one of the highest-producing agents for voting averages. Most agents during a typical work week would produce approximately 30-40 votes (full-time). My production for the number of votes was never below 60 and was typically between 70-90 per week while calling. I attribute my success to efficient processes as well as advanced knowledge of finding client information quickly which led to me being promoted to the Shareholder ID Department.

  • My first business Exotic Enterprises LLC DBA New Jersey Premier Party Group showed profit the first year we were producing and 10% or more growth every year since its inception in 2012.
